Editorial Policy
Last updated: May 15, 2026
SpanPost is an independent publication written and edited by Daniel Park. This page describes how articles and experiments are produced, what role AI plays, and how we handle corrections, sponsorships, and the boundaries of what we will and will not write about.
The Writing Process
- Experiment or topic selection. Topics come from things Daniel is actively running, reader suggestions, and gaps he hits in his own routine. Experiments are run on himself, n=1.
- Logging and data collection. Data is captured during the experiment using whichever wearable, app, or spreadsheet is appropriate. Raw logs are preserved.
- Research and outline. AI is used to gather background reading and summarize the relevant literature so Daniel can scope the writeup.
- Draft. A first-pass draft is generated with AI assistance using the experiment data and Daniel's notes.
- Human edit and verification. Daniel reviews, rewrites, adds his own charts and screenshots, hedges anything he can't check against the data, and is responsible for what gets published.
- Publish and date. Articles carry a published date. Material updates add a "last updated" line.
How AI Is Used
We use large language models (currently Anthropic Claude) as research assistants and draft generators — never as the final author. AI does not publish here without human review. Full disclosure in our AI Disclosure.
Corrections
If a number, claim, or interpretation is wrong, email editor@spanpost.comwith the article link and the issue. Confirmed factual errors are fixed within 48 hours, and material corrections are noted at the bottom of the affected article.
Sponsorships and Affiliate Links
- Affiliate links are disclosed at the top of any article that contains them.
- Sponsored content is labelled "Sponsored" and held to the same factual bar as regular articles.
- No vendor, sponsor, or affiliate has editorial control over what we publish or how we rate them.
- We do not accept payment to omit unfavourable findings from a tool review or experiment writeup.
Independence
SpanPost has no investors, no advertisers with editorial input, and no corporate parent. Coverage decisions are made by Daniel alone, based on what is genuinely useful — or at least honest — for other people trying to get useful things done.
